A Los Angeles criminal defense practice replacing a five-page WordPress brochure with a structured, searchable content library and a new brand identity. Engaged July 2026; in final pre-launch review at the time of writing.
What changed

Drag the handle to compare. Both frames are the homepage as it renders at 1440px, captured 3 August 2026 — "before" is apmlawoffices.com as it stands today on WordPress, "after" is the new build awaiting launch. So this is a comparison of design and structure only; there are no traffic or ranking figures behind it yet.
Practice Area
Criminal Defense
Location
Los Angeles, CA
Key Result
Brand identity and a 32-page website rebuild, in pre-launch review
Evidence
Named source systems
Worth stating plainly, because it is the honest version: three complete design directions were built and rejected before the accepted one. Round 1 was called mediocre. Round 2 was chosen in principle and still judged unfinished. Round 3 was rejected for having structure without behaviour. Round 4 became the site — a motion system then reshaped across roughly fifteen further rounds of client direction on palette, type and identity. Agencies that show only the final comp are hiding the part that determines whether they can take direction. This client rejected three directions and got the fourth built the way he wanted it.
A five-page brochure site cannot rank for the range of charges a criminal defense practice actually handles, and it gives an AI search engine nothing specific to cite. The rebuild had to scale to a real content library without becoming fifteen hand-built pages that nobody would ever update.
Developed two full brand directions — "Trusted Authority" in royal blue and navy-gold, and "The Fighter" in crimson and charcoal — before settling on a crimson-and-champagne system built around the client's own chosen lion, set in a seal ring and carried across the site as atmosphere rather than decoration
Rebuilt on the existing domain rather than starting fresh, preserving the domain history the practice already had
Built three reusable templates — pillar, charge and article — so four practice pillar pages generate from one template and a fifth practice area becomes a data entry rather than a new build
Added faceted search and an A–Z index across the library so the content stays navigable as it grows
Kept every page CRPC 7.1–7.5 and SB 37 compliant, with all legal content marked draft pending the firm's own verification against current statute
Put JSON-LD schema on every page — LegalService, FAQPage and Breadcrumb — as the foundation for both Google rich results and AI-engine citation
